New York Liberty championship celebrations: What you need to know

New York Liberty celebrate following 2024 WNBA championship win.

On Sunday, after 28 years in the WNBA and multiple trips to the finals, the New York Liberty notched their first league championship, beating the Minnesota Lynx in the fifth game of a five-game series at Barclays Center. In the lead-up to the victory, New York City Mayor Eric Adams promised a ticker-tape parade. And now, as fans load up on celebratory merch, the city has announced dates and times for the corresponding celebrations, which you’ll find below. Note that, in addition to the parades, New York will mark the occasion of its first basketball title in 48 years by lighting up municipal buildings like city hall and Brooklyn’s borough hall in the Liberty’s seafoam green.
