The suspects arrested for shooting an off-duty cop in Queens on Sunday during an attempted robbery were booked on attempted murder counts Monday.

According to police sources, 26-year-old Marvin Dankwah and 29-year-old Denzel Brown faced a slew of charges for the shocking shooting, including attempted murder, robbery, and criminal possession of a weapon.

Law Enforcement sources report the 25-year-old off-duty cop, assigned to the 107th Precinct in Jamaica, sat inside his flashy, lime green BMW along 43rd Avenue and 21st Street in Long Island City at around 6:01 a.m. when a grey Nissan pulled up alongside him.

The passenger left the vehicle and fired at the cop, penetrating his windshield and grazing him in the leg. The wounded officer managed to make a quick getaway by maneuvering his BMW onto the sidewalk and fleeing the location.

He eventually drove to the corner of 31st Road and 21st Street in Astoria, where he stopped and met with first responders. EMS transported the victim to Mount Sinai Queens Hospital in Astoria, where he was treated for his wounds.

Meanwhile, heavily armed cops pursued the pair all the way to 33rd Avenue and Union Street in Flushing.

The NYPD boxed in their vehicle and both Brown and Dankwah took off running. However, police were able to apprehend both men mere blocks apart.

Detectives escorted both suspects out of the 109th Precinct on Monday afternoon en route to Queens Criminal Court for arraignment. They refused to answer questions from reporters about their alleged crimes.

The head of one local police union spoke out about the incident and expressed relief that the wounded officer is recovering, and the suspects were locked up.

“We are grateful that our police officer will recover and the suspects are already in custody. However, this attack is yet another symptom of the message on our streets, which has emboldened criminals and put cops and all New Yorkers at risk. We need our justice system to step up and help us change that message,” PBA President Patrick Hendry said.
