Gazans who have been displaced due to recent conflicts voiced their frustration after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) dropped leaflets in the southern city of Khan Younis, designating the area a “fighting zone” and instructing residents to “evacuate immediately.”

Ghassan Al-Qudra, a displaced resident from Al-Qarara village, expressed his dismay, stating that after a temporary truce, new orders were issued, compelling people from Al-Qarara, Habathan, and al-Fuzaa to relocate to Rafah.

“From day one, we have been moving from one place to another, from the north to the south, from the center – who knows where next? And there is no electricity, no water, no food, no good living conditions, and we are patient,” Al-Qudra remarked.

Salma Mohamed Ben Suhaila, another displaced mother, criticized the IDF’s actions, saying, “We were in our home, and everything was calm, and all of a sudden they told us to go to Rafah. Where are we supposed to go? They are forcing us to leave, and they are lying to us. Who are these unjust people? They are unjust.”

The IDF’s leaflets included a QR code linking to an interactive map with numbered districts designated as “evacuation zones.” However, extensive damage to Gaza’s telecommunications and electrical infrastructure during weeks of conflict has left many residents with unreliable internet access and power.

As tensions persist, displaced individuals face uncertainty and challenges, with the impact of the conflict continuing to disrupt their daily lives.
