As the conflict in Gaza persists, Hezbollah rocket attacks on northern Israel have forced residents to evacuate their homes until further notice. Despite this, an IDF reserve unit remains stationed in the area, ready to respond to any potential threats, including infiltration attempts and combat with Hezbollah terrorists. IDF Online interviewed members of this reserve unit, known as the “Dvora” or “bee” unit, who are tirelessly working to protect the northern border.

The “Dvora” unit, a specialized reserve force, was established in recent years with the primary objective of thwarting terrorist infiltrations from the border. Their role involves rapidly deploying forces to the area in response to security threats. Formally known as the “YATAM Galil” (immediate response unit), the unit was affectionately named “Dvora” in honor of Deborah Drechler, who lost her life in the Battle of Tel Hai in 1920.
