It took a while, but the Samsung Galaxy A57 is finally up on Amazon – and it kicks things off with a $60 discount. That’s a bit less than the A37 discount, but it’s enough to shift the balance of power between the two.
The A37 is the cheaper model and if you can live with 6GB of RAM and 128GB non-expandable storage, then yes, it is meaningfully cheaper. But the 256GB models of the A37 and A57 are currently only $10 apart.
The Galaxy A57 is a slimmer (6.9mm vs. 7.4mm) and lighter (179g vs. 196g) phone with an aluminum frame (vs. plastic). The battery on both is the same, 5,000mAh with 45W charging, so you don’t lose anything in that regard. The A57 brings a faster chipset (Exynos 1680 vs. 1480) and it has a small edge in connectivity (Wi-Fi 6E, BT 6.0) plus a better ultra-wide camera. It also has a physical proximity sensor, which we know is important to some of you.

While you’re at it, have a look at the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE too – it’s currently $60 more than the A57 for both the 8/128GB and 8/256GB memory configurations, but you may be glad you spent the extra bucks a few years down the line.
While not as slim as the A57, the S25 FE has a similar premium (for the mid-range) build and an even faster Exynos 2400 chipset. Additionally, it has a dedicated telephoto camera, 8MP 3x/75mm. The battery endurance comes up a bit short (11:57h Active Use Score vs. 13:59h for the A57), but the S-phone adds 15W wireless charging as an option. This is on top of the 45W wired charging over USB-C – this is a USB 3.2 port with DisplayPort with full support for DeX, by the way.

The Google Pixel 10a is in the same price category as the A57, but it is a smaller phone with a 6.3” display (compared to 6.7” on the Samsung). The old Tensor G4 chipset was never great, but it is faster than the Exynos 1680. Also, Google managed to pack a larger battery (5,100mAh) with both wired (30W) and wireless charging (10W) in a smaller package and it squeezed out a longer endurance (15:13h).
The Google Pixel 10 (no “a”) is considerably more expensive than the 10a and the A57 – it costs more than even the Galaxy S25 FE. However, it adds a telephoto camera with a long lens (10.8MP 5x/112mm) and the newer Tensor G5 gives the Exynos 2400 a run for its money. Battery life isn’t great (12:08h), but at least the Pixel 10 has the excuse of its small size – it’s a 6.3” phone vs. 6.7” for the S25 FE.
There’s also the Google Pixel 10 Pro, which keeps the screen size at 6.3”, but uses a higher-resolution LTPO panel. Other improvements include better cameras, though not better performance or battery life. We have a detailed Pixel 10 vs. Pixel 10 Pro comparison available for a closer look.
Google makes you pay extra for a large screen – the Pixel 10 Pro XL has a 6.8” display and it is the most expensive out of the four non-folding models. Thanks to its extra size, it has a slightly larger 5,200mAh battery, but that is not enough to fix endurance, which is still at a low 12:29h. The performance and the cameras are the same as on the 10 Pro.
