Travis Kelce is used to catching passes, but it’s a throw from his bride that may have one woman feeling lucky.

Ashley Smith, sister of Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate Trey Smith, said on Instagram that she caught Taylor Swift’s bouquet after the “Opalite” singer and Kelce got married. Their July 3 ceremony at New York City’s Madison Square Garden may be one of the most high profile weddings in history. Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce called “magical,” while other guests said it was a “pinch-me moment.”

Smith may have had her own pinch-me moment by catching the bouquet, potentially transforming 2026’s cruel summer into her love story.

What did Ashley Smith say about catching the bouquet?

Smith is hoping there’s some magic in the bouquet she caught.

“Celebrated an Enchanting Love S(T&T)ory 🤍✨🤍 And somehow…I ended up catching Tay Tay’s bouquet. 💐” she captioned a series of photos of her and her brother on Instagram July 5.

“So here’s to believing it’s bringing a lifetime of love, luck, and laughter my way,” she added. “Congratulations, Taylor & Travis! Cheers to forever T&T!”

Who are Trey and Ashley Smith?

Trey Smith, 27, is a Jackson, Tennessee, native who plays guard on the offensive line for the Chiefs. He’s been with the team since they drafted him out of the University of Tennessee in 2021 in the sixth round, capping off a collegiate career in which he was a four-year starter.

Ashley Smith, meanwhile, has carved her own path in the NFL. In April, she wrote on Instagram that she wrapped up working at the league office. Her LinkedIn profile still lists her job as manager, player engagement, at the NFL.

“Taking time to reflect on this chapter, I am just incredibly grateful. Grateful for the opportunity to serve both current and former players through personal and professional development,” she wrote on Instagram.

She said she worked five Super Bowls, the draft, Pro Bowl and more high-profile events while with the NFL.

“I had a front row seat to some of the biggest moments in sports, but what I will cherish most are the people,” she wrote.

“The players I had the honor of serving are some of the most elite athletes in the world, but even better human beings. The colleagues across all 32 clubs are some of the brightest and most dedicated minds in football,” she added. “I am thankful for the opportunity to pour into others, to build, to lead, and to grow. I pray that the work I did continues to impact not only the players I worked with, but those who will come after them. Forever grateful for this chapter.”

Ashley Smith is one of her brother’s biggest cheerleaders

Trey Smith re-signed with the Chiefs in 2025 for $94 million over four years, a record for a guard. That prompted his sister to think about his journey to becoming a standout football player.

“Losing Mom when you were just 15 was a blow none of us were prepared for. I saw how deeply it affected you, but I also saw how you kept going — how you turned pain into purpose,” she wrote on Instagram.

She reflected on more “tests” he faced in his career, such as suffering blood clots in his lungs in college.

“So many counted you out. So many thought you’d never play again,” she wrote. “But you made a promise to Mom to finish what you started, and you did just that — getting your degree and showing the world what true resilience looks like.”

“While you’ve often looked to me for direction, I’ve often looked to you for inspiration,” she added. Words can’t fully express how much your heart, your resilience, your faith, and your fight have impacted me. You’ve shown me what it means to persevere, to rise with grace, and to honor God through it all.”
